This is famous for its long beach. When the harbour at Portimao
was enhanced the sand was dumped here and this has created an
excellent beach to go with the family resort. The resort itself
has a number of large villas and mass market hotels.
A recent (2002) regular visitor summed up the area...
"If you are looking for small town flavour on the Praia da Rocha - you
will not find it. It is pretty well deemed to be a tourist trap much like
Hollywood Boulevard in the US and generally has the atmosphere of a gigantic
flea market".

Is an excellent eating place. On a Friday night it's Indo/Chinese
banquet was superb value and all the locals attended which was
the best recommendation you can get.
