This town, more often driven through than stopped in, is famous for its large wine co-operative. The wine was once supposed to be good and is said to be very strong. You should make your own mind up as your palate and taste buds are likely to differ from those of the locals.
In 2000 the centre of Lagoa was the worst traffic bottleneck in the Algarve. Huge queues in either direction. Five kilometer queues common!!!
